The tomb of Yuwen Jian of NorthernZhou dynasty is located at the south side of Xi’an--Xianyang International Airport. It is composed of tomb passage, arched passage, shaft of tomb gallery, vaulted passage and main chamber. A total of 166 pieces of pottery, bronze, jade, iron, stone, etc. were unearthed. Special mention should be the pottery figures, which includes soldiers, animality patron,dogs, ovens, hens and others. Excavation of Yuwen Jian tomb and other tombs of Northern Zhou dynasty provide valuable data for the research of tomb structure, burial objects and material culture of Northern Zhou dynasty.
Generally Tri-Coloure wares are unearthed from big tomb of Tang,but fro m a small tomb (coded No.2)at the Heat and Power Plant in western suburb of Xi’a n,18 tri-coloures are dug out.Within those,4 jars’ coloures are different.And within a so called Qixing (7 stars)basin, small wares are found.These tri-col oures are masterworks of Shengtang (Prsperours time of Tang),and vabubl e to artistic enjoyinent.This finding also enriches our knowlege on the content of buried materials in small tombs of Tang.
The surveying reported in this paper found the park of Anling mausoleum,the second Emperor and Empress’s tomb of the Western Han;identified the small mound was Empress’s tomb and discovered a big ditch outside the northern wall so as to proved that there were a city wall and moat in the mausoleum.In addition,this investigation proved that the park was not square ——different from the result of early
