In the TEFL world, a teacher should cultivate not only the students' linguistic competence through practising listening, speaking, reading, writing as well as translating, but also their ideal qualities. Teaching English in China should emphasize improving the students' communicative ability. Teachers should build up a good learning environment for practising using English, fully enlarge students' scope of knowledge with the help of advanced teaching techniques and help them construct their own model of learning.
