This paper makes a survey and discussion on exploring the effect of note taking in L1 or L2 while listening to lectures in L2 and their respective effect on L1 oral interpretation.by means of the descriptive statistics and qualitative analysis of the 52 non- English major students who selected financial English course from University of International Business & Economics.The survey indicates that the results supported the hypotheses made in the study:the quantitative comparison showed that the Chinese group note taking produced oral interpretation better than the English note-taking group in the oral.interpretation.
