Tetra(4-diazoniumbenzene)porphyrin(TDBP) was synthesized via diazo-reaction of tetra-(4-aminobenzene)porphyrin(TABP). From the analysis results of MALDI-TOF mass spectroscopy and FTIR,it was confirmed that the synthesized porphyrin derivative mainly consists of tetra(4-diazoniumbenzene) porphyrin with trace tri- and di-substituted compounds. The self-assembly of TDBP with poly(styrene sulfonate)(PSS) was carried out and a novel TDBP/PSS multilayer ultrathin film on silicon substrate was obtained. The self-assembled film is very sensitive to heat and light, after heating or irradiation of UV light, the thin film becomes very stable towards polar solvents such as DMF. The coupling reaction of TDBP with phenol and the thermal stability of TDBP were also investigated preliminary. [WT5HZ]
Through self assembly technique, a new type of layer by layer ultra thin film was fabricated based on water soluble substituted polyaniline and photosensitive diazoresin through electrostatic attraction. Under UV irradiation, the bond nature between layers turns from ionic to covalent following the decomposition of diazonium group, and the film gets very stable. The photoelectric conversion property of substituted polyaniline containing self assembled film has also been investigated in this article.
Polyvinylacetal of 4-[2-(4-formylphenyl)ethenyl]pyridium(PVA-FEP) was synthesized and the layer by layer self-assembly from PVA-FEP as polycation with a series of polyanions was investigated. The multilayer utrathin films formed are photoreactive. Under UV irradiation the [2+2] cycloaddition of the styrylpiridium moieties of PVA-FEP takes place to produce crosslinking net works in the layers of the film. And the stability of the irradiated film toward polar solvents enhances greatly. The patterning of the film has been realized by selective UV exposure of the film through a photomask then developing in saturated sodium dodecyl sulfate aqueous solution.
