Co-electrodeposition of lanthanum with nickel from aqueous solution withEDTA as complexing agent was studied. Ni-La alloy coating containing La up to 22.58wt%was obtained. Flom the results of the experiments it was believed that the codepositionof La with Ni belongs to the inductive codeposition mechanism. By XPS analysis thevalences of both La and Ni in the obtained alloy coatings were to be zero. It was provedtbIough the analysis and calculation of the XRD data that all the Ni-La alloy coatingsin which La content was equal to or less than 22.58wt% were in crystalline structure ofdisplacement solid solution.
