A Zn(II) coordination polymer [Zn(pht)(pzH)2]n (where pht2-=dianion of o-phthalic acid, pzH=pyrazole) has been synthesized and the structure was determined by X-ray diffraction. The complex crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c, a=0.821 39(10) nm, b=1.662 2(2) nm, c=1.156 42(14) nm, β=100.349(2)°, V=1.553 2(3) nm3, Z=4. Both carboxylate groups of the phthalate dianion coordinated in a monodentate mode bridged two Zn(II) atoms forming the structure of 1-D chain. The pyrazole ligands play two different roles: one only coordinates the metal atom and the other joins the coordination polymer into a 2-D sheet via N-H...O and C-H...O hydrogen bonds besides the coordination property. A blue photoluminescence peak at 435 nm was observed in solid state at room temperature. CCDC: 227946.
A planar metal complex NiL, H2L=acenaphthenequinone bis(S benzyldithiocarbazate), 1, has been prepared via the template effect of nickel ion. Crystal structure of 1 was determined by X ray diffraction analysis and shows the planar coordination configuration around the central nickel atom. Z scan measurements show that 1 is a transition metal complex exhibiting high third order nonlinear optical effect.
A novel one-dimensional chain manganese(II) compound Mn(trz)2ClphthH, (trz=1,2,4-triazole, phthH=hydrogen phthalate), 1, was synthesized and structurally characterized. It crystallizes in monoclinic system, space group P2 / c with a=1.381 1(11) nm, b=0.815 5(7) nm, c=0.735 4(6) nm, β=94.667(15)°, V=0.825 5(12) nm3. It consists of one dimensional cationic manganese(II) chain and uncoordinated hydrogen phthalate anions. The manganese(II) ions are bridged with two 1,2,4-traizoles and one chloride anion along the cationic chain, in which the weak antiferromagnetic exchange occurs between manganese(II) atoms.
