A survey of next generation mobile communications researchin China被引量:6

With the rapid development of wireless communication networks, the fourth generation (4G) has emerged to move beyond the limitations of the third generation (3G), with increased bandwidth, enhanced quality of services, and reduced costs of resources. In this paper, we discuss the key technologies of 4G and focus on surveying the ongoing research in 4G communications in China. The 4G technologies under investigation include multicarrier transmission, multiple antenna techniques, carrier aggregation, relays, cognitive radio, distributed antenna systems, network convergence, and network self-optimization. These technologies are the building blocks of 4G and contribute largely to the requirements of International Mobile Telecommunications Advanced (IMT-Advanced). For each technology, its benefits, research topics, and some existing approaches are examined. Finally, we briefly discuss the challenges and future research issues in 4G systems.

CYCLOSTATIONARITY-BASED OFDM SIGNAL SENSING OVER DOUBLY-SELECTIVE FADING CHANNELS被引量:1

In this paper,using cyclostationarity-based sensing method to detect the presence of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM) signal over doubly-selective fading channels is studied.By approximating the channel with Basis Expansion Model(BEM),we derive the second-order cyclostationary statistics of the received OFDM signal over doubly-selective fading channels.Theoretical analysis indicates that new cyclostationary signatures produced by Doppler spread and multipath delay can be further exploited in the detecting process.Simulation examples demonstrate that the sensing methods using channel-induced cyclostationary features provide substantial improvements on detection performance.

A delay-constrained energy-efficient component carrier adjusting scheme for LTE-Advanced systems

The energy efficiency and packet delay tradeoffs in long term evolution-advanced(LTE-A) systems are investigated.Analytical expressions are derived to explain the relation of energy efficiency to mean packet delay,arrival rate and component carrier(CC) configurations,from the theoretical respective which reveals that the energy efficiency of multiple CC systems is closely related to the frequency of CCs and the number of active CCs.Based on the theoretical analysis,a CC adjusting scheme for LTE-A systems is proposed to maximize energy efficiency subject to delay constraint by dynamically altering the on/off state of CCs according to traffic variations.Numerical and simulation results show that for CCs in different frequency bands with equal transmit power,the proposed scheme could significantly improve the energy efficiency of users in all aggregation levels within the constraint of mean packet delay.
