The dual ligand system of V-shaped 5-(4-carboxy-2-nitrophenoxy)-isophthalic acid(Hcn-H2ipa) and dipyridy-type molecules produces two new coordination polymers: {[Ni(cn-Hipa)(bpa)(H2O)3]·1.5H2O}n 1 and {[Cu(Hcn-ipa)(ppe)2]}n 2(bpa = 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane, and ppe = trans-1-(2-pyridyl)-2-(4-pyridyl)ethylene). Two complexes have been characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR, and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA). Complex 1 is of monoclinic system, space group C2 with a = 25.936(3), b = 7.6100(10), c = 16.558(2), β = 105.9470(10)°, V = 3142.4(7) A3, Dc = 1.415 g/cm3, Mr = 669.23, Z = 4, F(000) = 1388, μ = 0.687 mm-1, the final R = 0.0397 and w R = 0.0967 for 12070 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ(I). Complex 2 belongs to the triclinic system, space group P1 with a = 10.165(5), b = 14.946(7), c = 15.506(11) A, α = 106.461(7), β = 102.454(8), γ = 107.861(5)°, V = 2029(2) A3, Dc = 1.266 g/cm3, Mr = 773.20, Z = 2, F(000) = 794, μ = 0.595 mm-1, the final R = 0.0538 and w R = 0.1378 for 15488 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ(I). Two complexes show that the 1D polymeric chains are cohered together by extensive H-bonds to complete stable supramolecular microporous frameworks.
A new Schiff base compound((NSBSH)2bipy·3H2O) based on 5-nitrosalicylal 4-methyl benzene-sulfonohydrazide(abbreviated as NSBSH), formulated as C38H40N8O13S2, has been synthesized by the condensation of 5-nitrosalicylaldehyde and 4-methylbenzenesulfonohydrazide, and structurally characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis, elemental analysis and IR spectrum. It crystallizes in monoclinic system, space group P2/c with a = 13.7992(16), b = 7.1410(8), c = 21.403(2)A, β = 95.5660(10)° and V = 2099.1(4)A3. X-ray analysis reveals that there are obvious π-π stacking interactions between two adjacent aromatic ring planes. The intermolecular hydrogen bonding interactions connect the adjacent Schiff base units into a binuclear unit, and further propagate these moieties into a two-dimensional(2D) supramolecular network. The title compound displays strong photoluminescence in the liquid state as well as high thermal stability. The experiment also shows that it has a good antibacterial activity in vitro antibacterial activity against Sarcina.
A new cadmium(II) polymer based on imidazole derivative, formulated as [Cd(Hiba)2]n 1, H2iba = 4-(1-H-imidazol-2-yl) benzoic acid), has been synthesized under hydro- thermal conditions. The compound crystallizes in triclinic system, space group P1 with a = 7.062(4), b = 10.840(7), c = 13.099(8) A, a = 98.102(7), fl = 101.524(7), y = I07.961(7)°, V= 912.3(10) A3, Z = 2, Mr = 486.75, Dc = 1.772 Mg/m3,/t = 1.234 mm-1, F(000) = 484, the final R = 0.0735 and wR = 0.1739 for 2154 observed reflections with 1 〉 20(I). Polymer 1 consists of (Cd-Hiba)2 zigzag chains, which are further linked by hydrogen bonding to extend into a two-dimensional (2D) corrugated-shape sheet structure. The 2D structures are further connected into a 3D supramolecular edifice through hydrogen bonding. The polymer exhibits exceptional high thermal stability. The bulk purity of the materials of 1 was confirmed through the powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) patterns. The luminescent property of polymer I has also been investigated.
Compound [Cd_(1.5)(ppt)Br_2(H_2O)]_(2n)(1),where Hppt = 3-(pyridin-4-yl)-5-(pyrazin-2-yl)-1H-1,2,4-triazole,has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by elemental analysis,IR spectra,powder XRD,and X-ray diffraction.Compound 1 crystallizes in the triclinic system,space group P1 with a = 7.4402(6),b = 8.0570(7),c = 12.8674(11) A,α = 89.7300(10),β = 89.8570(10),γ = 68.3910(10)°,V = 717.13(10) A^3,Z = 1,Dc = 2.638 g/cm^3,μ = 7.824 mm^-1,F(000) = 534,the final R = 0.0324 and w R = 0.1084 for 2324 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ(I).X-ray diffraction analyses revealed that complex 1 is a 2D layered coordination polymer constructed from the linkage of [Cd_3(μ-Br)_4] trinuclear units with ppt-spacers,and a 3D supramolecular architecture is further assembled in 1 via hydrogen-bonding contacts.Fluorescence measurements show that 1 has medium fluorescent emission at 450 nm.
