A series of monolithic catalysts for methane combustion with different supports were prepared using impregnation method and the slurry of catalysts was coated on the surface of cordierite and characterized by XRD.The catalytic activities for methane combustion were assessed in a micro-reactor.The C3 monolithic catalysts have a marked effect and show high activity,good thermal stability and similar character to noble metal catalysts.The reason is that the support mixed OSM and YSZ-Al2O3(γ-Al2O3 modified by Y2O3 and ZrO2)has high surface and can resist high temperature and the synergistic effect of CeO2,Y2O3,ZrO2 and Co3O4 can resist forming the crystal of CoAl2O4 effectively.
Catalysts for methane combustion were prepared by Fe supported on γ-Al2O3?ZrO2-Al2O3?YSZ-Al2O3,respectively.The results indicated that among these three kinds of catalysts Fe2O3/YSZ-Al2O3 has showed the highest activity and best thermal stability.The XPS results demonstrated that the addition of ZrO2 and Y2O3 can decrease the interaction between iron species and γ-Al2O3 support,and prevent Al2O3 transmitting to the surface of catalyst.
Catalysts for methane combustion were prepared by iron,cobalt and manganese oxides as active components.The catalysts showed high activity,good thermal stability and similar character to noble metal catalysts.The high activity was kept after aging at 1000℃ for 5h.Preparation methods thus ensued had great effect on catalytic activity and thermal stability.
